      Elemental, a web and software development company based in Sandown, Cape Town, is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on part part-time basis. In this role, you will manage various bookkeeping and accounting functions essential to the company’s financial operations, as outlined below. If you are organised, trustworthy, and passionate about maintaining accurate financial records, we’d love to hear from you!

      Location

      This is a hybrid role; however, the candidate must reside in Cape Town or the surrounding areas, as occasional in-person meetings are required at our Sandown office (near Sunningdale).

      Job specification
      • Invoicing: ad hoc and recurring invoicing
      • Processing debit orders
      • Quoting
      • Payroll (including PAYE preparation and submission)
      • Supplier payments
      • VAT calculations and submission
      • Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards
      • Credit card reconciliation
      • Debtors: follow up and issuing statements
      • Prepare management and financial reports
      • Maintain accurate filing systems for financial records, receipts, and invoices.
      • Perform other administrative duties as needed.
      Requirements
      • A diploma in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or a related field is highly advantageous.
      • Minimum of three years’ experience in bookkeeping is required.
      • At least two years of experience working with Xero is essential.
      Skills
      • Understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
      • Proficiency in Xero accounting software
      • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
      • Excellent numeracy skills.
      • Ability to communicate effectively.
      • Good organisational and time-management skills.
      • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, etc)
      • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
      • Highly trustworthy and honest
