      Main job purposes

      Overall responsibility for the management of financial resources of the company, to analyse daily financial activities, responsible for the budget process and support to the management team by offering insights and financial advice that will allow them to make sound business decisions and meet the company's objectives.

      Employment specification
      • Post School: B Comm. degree (A financial accreditation would be advantageous)
      • Experience: At least 5-10 years related experience to the full financial function in a similar role incl. managerial experience
      • Job Related: MS Office (advanced skills in Excel) and Sage Evolution knowledge would be advantageous.

      Essential duties and responsibilities:
      • Overall financial management and oversight of the multiple operating contracts within the company.
      • Oversee the preparation of financial reports (management accounts, board reports, forecasts, cash flows etc)
      • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting information.
      • Provide the GM and MANCO with financial advice that contributes significantly to the overall profitability of the company's operations.
      • Monitor and control the flow of cash to meet the business requirements.
      • Implement and maintain cash management strategies.
      • Asset management.
      • Manage and coordinate the budgeting process.
      • Ensure that the tax and regulatory requirements are attended to and complied with.
      • Oversee and control debtors and creditor functions.
      • Responsible for the month-end closure, ensure control of bank account, cash management account and petty cash/e-wallet.
      • Develop financial management mechanisms that minimise financial risk.
      • Compile annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, GAAP, etc.
      • Liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.
      • Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organisations conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
      • Oversee all systems and procedures for group requirements.
      • Responsible for insurance portfolios.
      • Responsible for group statutory submission requirements.
      • Ensure the management accounting systems and controls are implemented and maintained to provide adequate information on company performance for purposes of control and evaluation.
      • Ensure the adequate internal financial control procedures are maintained throughout the company.
      • Maintain and reconcile general ledger.
      • Complete monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
      • Review and manage all contractual requirements with clients e.g. month-end reconciliations, invoices etc and
      • Any other reasonable expectation related to the role of a Financial Manager.
