Are you a talented engineer with experience in Python and a strong background in Java and Node.js?

An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled software engineer with Node.js expertise to join an innovative and dynamic team on a long-term contract basis.

The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Python and Node.js, with a passion for developing scalable, efficient, and robust applications. They will play a critical role in building and maintaining innovative software solutions while contributing to a collaborative and tech-driven environment.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with microservices architecture, cloud architecture, and container architecture.
• At least six years of experience using back-end technologies such as:
  • Python
  • Node.js
  • Java
• Experience with the following cloud technologies:
  • Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS (AWS is strongly preferred).
  • Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, or self-managed).
  • AWS API Gateway, CloudWatch, EC2, RDS, S3.
• Automated deployment and configuration of components and systems.
• Knowledge of IaaS, e.g. deployment and maintenance of Linux VMs.
• Understanding of virtual networks, including communication with on-premises networks.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (design, configuration, and operation).
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Skills in monitoring, log analytics, and observability.
• Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL or others).
• Knowledge of:
  • Web services design and deployment.
  • REST.
  • GIT.
• Experience with design and architecture patterns.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, and Nexus.
• Ability to handle any additional responsibilities assigned in the agile working model (AWM) charter.

This is a contract position based in Midrand, Centurion, or semi-remote, offering a contract rate of R750 per hour (negotiable based on experience and ability).
