Cape Union Mart is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and results-driven leader to join the executive team and head up the retail division. This division forms part of the Cape Union Mart Group of Companies.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of a multi-billion rand business unit.
• Play a key role in strategy development and execution.
• Uphold and promote the group’s vision and values.
• Manage brand image, merchandise mix, and the identity of South Africa’s leading outdoor retailer.
• Drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Achieve budgets and performance targets.
• Inspire, mentor, and develop team members to build a winning culture.
• Maximise e-commerce and omni-channel opportunities.
• Maintain and develop relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other divisions, including Old Khaki, Poetry, and Travel & Safari.
• Support and promote proudly South African manufacturing through K-Way Manufacturers (Pty) Ltd, encouraging local sourcing and procurement.

Qualifications and experience

Education:

• Undergraduate business degree (essential).
• Postgraduate qualification such as an honours, master's, GDA, or MBA (highly desirable).

Experience:

• Minimum of ten years’ retail trading experience in a senior leadership role (leader of leaders).
• Expertise in planning, sourcing, and procurement within clothing, footwear, or outdoor products.
• Strong financial and IT knowledge (preferably Oracle and PLM).
