Highbury Media (Pty) Ltd T/A Habari Media is a media powerhouse, whose world-class titles connect brands to targeted audiences. We are seeking an editorial intern residing in Cape Town, currently unemployed, and seeking to gain workplace experience to join our dynamic editorial team for Getaway Magazine. This role focuses on digital content but may also involve some work on print magazines.
The successful candidate will be required to do the following:
- Generate story ideas daily
- Assist with fact-checking stories
- Assist with editorial tasks
- Assist in managing social media channels
- Attends events when required and produces necessary content from events where applicable.
- Other administrative tasks where relevant
- Tertiary qualification in media studies, English and/or journalism
- Proficiency in WordPress CMS and a Mac is beneficial
- Excellent writing, copy editing and organisational skills
- Able to work accurately under deadline pressure and willing to work overtime when necessary
- Proficiency in all major social media platforms
- Have a keen interest and basic knowledge of travel and nature conservation
