Black Powder makes new senior appointments to its exco team

Creative agency Black Powder has made senior appointments to its exco team with the appointments of Mushambi Mutuma as managing director in August 2020, and Lerato Tshabalala as executive creative director earlier this year. The pair join an established senior team headed up by founder Gugu Mandala and have been tasked with growing the business and building team capacity as it heads into the new year.

Mutuma has 12 years of experience in building brands and businesses across the African continent as well as the United States, while Tshabalala has previous experience as a creative director at both Ogilvy and Wunderman, having started her career in media as an editor and writer.

The agency also recently made further appointments to head of client service and head of digital roles and is currently expanding its senior roles in both the strategy and creative divisions.
