A leading and sophisticated payroll company, known for being a one-stop payment service provider, is seeking an intermediate system engineer with expertise in Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes. This role involves collaborating with network staff to ensure seamless and reliable operations of software and systems to meet business goals.

Requirements

• Five to eight years of experience as a system engineer.
• Red Hat RHCE certification (highly desirable).
• Linux/Unix Kernel experience.
• Experience with Solaris (advantageous).
• Knowledge of web components such as Apache and Tomcat.
• Expertise in high availability/clustering technologies (highly desirable).
• Familiarity with storage technologies (SAN, multipathing, iSCSI, LVM).
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Experience with LDAP, Kerberos, Samba, and Active Directory.
• Proficiency in container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of load balancing devices (advantageous).
• Cloud certification (Azure/AWS) is beneficial.
• VMware vRealize Operations certification (an advantage but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with network teams to ensure reliable system operations.
• Work with executives and stakeholders to define system goals and resolve issues.
• Research software and systems products to support recommendations.
• Document procedures and system requirements.
• Design and evaluate systems using modelling techniques.
• Deploy and enhance applications and operating systems.
• Install, configure, and test hardware and system management tools.
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures.
