The City of Cape Town is seeking a Senior Professional Valuer to provide market valuations of immovable properties and related advice.
This is a re-advertisement. Applicants who have applied for EG 27/24, need not re-apply.
Requirements
- A relevant three-year tertiary qualification:
- National Diploma in Real Estate/Property Valuation
- B degree in Property Studies
- B Tech in Real Estate/Property Valuation
- At least eight (8) years' relevant property valuations experience
- Valid registration as a Professional Valuer or Professional Associated Valuer in terms of the Property Valuers Profession Act without restrictions
- A valid Code B/EB driver’s licence
- Physically fit and able-bodied for site inspections
- Computer literacy (MS Office packages and Excel)
Key performance areas
- Provide market valuations of immovable properties including rights in immovable properties, i.e. residential, commercial, industrial, business, institutions, farms, open spaces, roads, etc.
- Provide immovable property-related advice and support to internal and external stakeholders to influence and guide valuation decisions for acquisitions, disposals, and rentals.
- Implement section and department communication strategy for efficient service delivery.
- Correspond and conduct negotiations and represent regarding acquisitions, disposal, and rental valuations with stakeholders, including analysis of actual financial loss claims from expropriations or acquisitions.
- Undertake professional functions, i.e., research and development in the valuation fields to facilitate continuous improvement to service delivery.
