Job title: Minilab printer and film archivist
Based at: Orms Central Cape Town
Responsible for: Printing, scanning, and editing of negatives and digital images to ensure client satisfaction and return; achieving or exceeding targets.
Minimum educational qualification required to perform job: Previous photographic printing experience; good colour theory.

- Outstanding communicator with good customer service skills
- Previous photographic printing experience
- Good eyesight
- Not colour-blind
Summary of job description: Responsible mostly for the scanning and editing of digital images and negatives. Assist in the laboratory with day-to-day jobs; fill in, assist, and help in other areas of the lab if a team member is absent or requires help with work.
Key performance areas:- Scanning of negatives and slides
- De-dusting negatives and slides
- Digitally editing images to the highest quality
- Helping with packing and checking of negative and digital work
- Assisting with flatbed/bulk scanning and retouching
- Assisting with quarterly stocktakes as scheduled
- Printing as required
- Meeting time constraints
- Maintaining a harmonious working relationship with colleagues, peers, and management

- Professional handling of prints and negatives, e.g., wearing gloves
- Having a professional approach to clients at all times; in-store, on the phone, and via email
- Helping clients to the best of your knowledge or seeking assistance and subsequent training to perform optimally at all times
- Excellent product knowledge
- Keeping technical knowledge up-to-date at all times
- Representing Orms in a positive and professional manner at all times
- Excellent command of the technicalities involved in photographic printing, scanning, and editing of digital images, negatives, and photographic prints
- Good Photoshop skills
