We are seeking an experienced lead developer to oversee our development team, provide technical guidance, and ensure the successful delivery of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of developers, ensuring high levels of motivation and performance.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the team, including conducting code reviews and ensuring best practices.
• Collaborate with project managers to plan, execute, and deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Identify and resolve technical and operational issues that may arise during project development.
• Facilitate effective communication within the team and with other departments.
• Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback to team members.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning within the team.
• Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a leadership role within a development team.
• Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and project management principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Experience with project management tools and software development tools.

Preferred skills:

• Experience in the media industry or similar.
• Knowledge of specific programming languages and frameworks used by Habari Media.
• Certification in project management or Agile methodologies.
