KwaZulu-Natal - Sahara Stadium Kingsmead - 1 August 2010
With each of the four cricket coaching clinics being hosted by Shaun Pollock the Durban event was enriched with the presence and participation of SA Cricketer of the Year, Hashim Amla as well as hard hitting batsman, Loots Bosman.
Ex Dolphins and Protea all-rounder Shaun Pollock was delighted with the event turnout. "In order to maintain our dominance in world cricket we need such development events as this one. A brand such as Toyota must be commended for the effort in which they have gone about in affording us the opportunity to plough back into the game of cricket. You never know: today might have been the unveiling of the next cricketing super hero."
SA Test Cricketer of the Year, Hashim Almla thoroughly enjoyed the coaching. "Days like this one make our jobs all worth while and one forgets about the awards which you have won as well as your recent successes. The parents have been great and I think that if I have to give them one piece of advice, it would be to keep encouraging their kids and don't apply too much pressure. It has been a super day where I have been able to share my knowledge with enthusiastic boys and girls."
Next up, and for the first time in the Father and Sons history, will be East London's Buffalo Park on 8 August. Following on from this second event will be a double header in Johannesburg on 21 and 22 August at Bidvest Wanderers.
If you haven't yet entered for the East London or Johannesburg legs, please do so at www.toyota.co.za as entries are limited.
