“We are well-positioned to supply child proof closures to small, medium and multi-national customers and with a stabilised industrial market demand, we are now ready to pursue alternative sectors such as household and chemical markets,” states Paul Visagie, General Manager of FMCG operations for Mpact Plastics division.
Meeting the requirements: function, cost, safety, product image
The childproof closure is an all-round performer, taking function, cost, safety and product branding requirements into account. The closure fits an industry standard 1810 PET bottleneck size and whilst this two-part closure is priced competitively, the key objective is to ensure safety during the use and storage of the product.
Throughout the development process, our in-house design team, together with a toolmaker, developed this product whilst bearing in mind the complexities of in-house assembly, functionality, existing filling lines at customers and ultimately the safety of the end user.
The closures are available in a range of standard colours. Depending on quantities, custom colours can be used to meet brand-marketing requirements.
As the use of PET and HD continues to expand into industrial and chemical markets, where safety is a key concern, the childproof cap offers the perfect solution. Application of the closure is suitable for most polyolefins* used in producing bottles for automotive, homecare, motor oil, spirits, paraffin and turpentine based products.
*Polyolefins include material grades HDPE, LDPE, PP, OTHER
