Denny da Silva joins Baker McKenzie Johannesburg

Global law firm Baker McKenzie has announced the appointment of Denny da Silva as a senior tax advisor for its Johannesburg office. Da Silva's appointment is part of Baker McKenzie's strategy to bolster its cross-border transactional practice and attend to the demand for tax expertise in Africa.

In his new role, da Silva will closely work with head of tax Virusha Subban, VAT consultant Jana Botha and tax associate Prenisha Govender. He has extensive experience in transactional, international, income and general tax and holds an LLB, LLM in corporate law and higher diplomas in international tax law and tax law from the University of Johannesburg. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, he was a tax manager at ENSafrica.

Da Silva assumed the role on 4 May 2020.
