Harvest festival at Wellington
Wellington, 2010's SA Terroir Top Wine Area, celebrates harvest time with its 5th annual Wine Harvest Festival from 19 - 21 March 2011. The weekend will be packed with fun-filled activities for the whole family with entertainment from Steve & Armand Hofmeyr, Adam Tas, Newton & Co, and even the Black Countess for opera lovers. Adrenalin junkies can enjoy quad-biking, the Bain's trail run or, for a slower pace, the 5km Wine-on-foot@Blouvlei vineyard walk and grape stomping. There'll be wine tastings, food pairings, and an international potjiekos competition. Amble around the country market while the kids take a tractor or pony ride. A full weekend ticket, available from all participating farms and the Wellington Information Office, costs R60 (kids under 13 enter free). Special Monday armbands are available at R30 per person.
