We have an exciting new position open for a Legal Advisor in Badger Group External Resolutions. The position specifically focuses on resolution of disputes at external forums.


 Preference will be given to someone with an LLB but someone studying towards an LLB with work experience in the legal field will also be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate complaints brought against the Group at various external forums
  • Formulate legal arguments and professionally represent and defend the Group at these forums
  • Building relationships with the various Ombudsmen as well as internal staff members
  • Work independently and without supervision, unless dealing with a complex matter that needs input from management
  • Immediately advise management of contentious complaints that need intervention and/or an overturn of the decision which was taken which is the subject of the complaint
  • Proper time keeping by attending to complaints within a reasonable time from receipt thereof and ensuring that time lines are not missed
  • Be respectful of management and other staff members’ time constraints when requesting assistance and therefore to request assistance if at all needed, timeously
  • Assist various other departments in legal and other matters, if and when so required by management
  • Assist the senior manager:  Legal and the Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance from time to time and as required in various litigious matters
