Data Management Lead
Are you a seasoned data management professional with expertise in BCBS 239 compliance? We are seeking a dynamic
data management lead to spearhead data governance and risk data aggregation initiatives in South Africa's financial services sector.
In this strategic role, you will leverage your in-depth understanding of regulatory requirements, data quality management, and governance frameworks to align with the (SARB) standards. Join us to lead transformative data initiatives that enhance compliance, strengthen risk reporting, and drive data-informed decision-making across the organisation.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement frameworks to ensure compliance with BCBS 239 principles and SARB regulations.
- Oversee risk data aggregation and reporting to enhance accuracy and timeliness in regulatory submissions.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
- Manage enterprise-wide data dictionaries, metadata, and data lineage processes.
- Define and monitor data quality standards and performance metrics.
- Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, nurturing skills and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and risk managers to align data initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Drive the adoption of modern data management tools and methodologies.
- Innovate in data reporting and analytics to support organisational strategy.
Qualifications and experience- Bachelor’s degree in data science, information management, computer science, finance, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CDMP, DAMA) are highly advantageous.
- Minimum of eight years’ experience in data management, data governance, or regulatory compliance within financial services.
- Proven track record in implementing BCBS 239 frameworks, preferably in South African financial institutions.
- Strong knowledge of SARB regulatory requirements and local banking standards.
- Proficiency in data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica).
- Expertise in data visualisation and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
- Solid understanding of database systems, data integration, and data warehousing technologies.
