Senior Accountant (Legal Experience) - JHB North, Gauteng

A law firm in Johannesburg North is looking for a Senior Accountant to oversee the financial aspects of the firm.

The suitable candidate will report to the directors of the firm.
This is an in-office position

Salary: R20k - R40k

Qualifications and Abilities:

• BCOM in Accounting
• Relevant accounting experience within the legal industry
• Computer literate in legal / accounting software e.g CRM; Sage; Pastel & Xero
• SAP working experience
• Strong communication skills
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Team player and self-starter

Responsibilities:

• Management accounts
• Preparation and management of budgets
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts (preparation/reviews) on a monthly and annual basis
• Review payments and reconciliations (suppliers, debtors, cashbook, inter-company)
• Forex (limited)
• Manage and forecast cash flow
• Preparation and submission of VAT, EMP and tax returns
• Fixed asset register maintenance
• Annual audit preparations, schedules, queries
• Ability to lead and manage a team
