Company Description

DRIVING ELECTRONIC, LIGHTING & BATTERY WASTE MANAGEMENT IN SA!

How we live day-to-day and the decisions we make has an effect on our environment and our future on this planet. There is a limited amount of resources in the world, like precious metals, and the way things are made can have a negative or positive effect on the environment.

On the other hand, we are producing too much waste for the planet to keep up, and recycling rates are currently very low, with landfills getting full.

Items like electronic waste, lighting and batteries – defined as Waste Electrical Electronic Equipment and Lighting (WEEEL) – in particular need to be produced in an environmentally sensitive manner and then managed correctly at the end of their life cycle.

This is because they can contain toxic materials that harm the environment – or valuable parts that should be re-used and not go to waste.

This is where ERA comes in. Starting out as an e-waste focused Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO), ERA has since grown to include other waste categories.
