- Valid registration with the HPCSA
- Degree in Occupational medicine (M.Med.)
- Five (5) years’ experience in an occupational health setting of which at least two (2) years must be in a managerial setting
- Knowledge of the relevant acts and regulations pertaining to the job.
Key performance areas: - Manage the provision and strategic planning of an efficient occupational health service for the City of Cape Town’s staff
- Research and investigate new trends and ensure resource planning for preventative interventions using analysed statistical information
- Coordinate key projects in support of the branch programmes
- Develop and review a 2-yearly health risk profile for each department where applicable
- Manage operations through the coordination, scheduling and implementation of activities through the assistance of the OMPs and OHPs
- Plan, develop coordinate, monitor and audit the delivery of occupational health (OH) services to the City of Cape Town in liaison with the manager: Occupational health and safety
- Implement operational plans at the various occupational health clinics and regularly assess performance of OH divisions
- Assess resource requirements within each OH Clinic and manage staff performance, productivity and discipline/skills development within the branch
- Ensure financial management through preparation of capital and operating estimates and control expenditure against approved budget allocations for the division
- Coordinate and communicate audit findings and forensic matters and manage recommendations
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and service providers
- Manage and coordinate information flow within the branch
- Submit regular/periodic reports on activities and trends in occupational health.
