Key purpose of the role
Digital Content Producers (DCPs) play an important role in enhancing and extending content from partner departments, ensuring a growing and engaging digital presence for station social media platforms and Primedia+.
Their key responsibility is to produce and curate consistent, high-quality multimedia content—ranging from editorial support for programming to brand-driven marketing initiatives. By strategically shaping and distributing this content, DCPs strengthen audience connections, driving growth, reach, and engagement across digital platforms.
As content specialists, DCPs create content-sharing opportunities, amplify brand visibility, and foster online conversation. Their expertise ensures the seamless delivery of compelling, platform-specific content that aligns with the business’s broader digital strategy.
Key outputs /accountabilityGrow + Engage Online Audiences:
Produce high-quality videos across social media platforms and Primedia+
Ensure 100% of published content includes properly formatted titles, relevant tags, accurate metadata, and high-quality thumbnails, as per platform best practices.
- Collaborate with partner departments to create high-impact visual social media content that captivates digital audiences on key platforms.
- Optimise content for discoverability and engagement by maintaining high standards for titles, tags, metadata, thumbnails, captions, and hashtags.
Brand:
Maintain consistent alignment of social content with brand identity and overall strategy. Contribute key brand marketing campaigns.
- Provide content support for key brand marketing campaigns. Ensure brand alignment across commercial, editorial, and marketing sources. Develop social media content that authentically reflects the brand’s essence while maintaining strategic consistency.
Minimum required qualification:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, media studies, communication, journalism, or a related field
- Or equivalent practical experience within a broadcast media company
Qualifications considered advantageous:
- Qualifications that relate to video editing, digital marketing or multimedia
Minimum years of experience:- 4-6 years of experience in digital content creation with a proven track record of success in growing audiences, and creating engaging content that enhances the brand, particularly on visual platforms YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.
- 4-6 years of experience managing social media platforms for a brand, including content strategy, managing publishing/scheduling content, reporting on content performance and community engagement.
Additional role requirements:
- Some travel required (city and country-wide).
- Drivers licence – non-negotiable
- Experience in a digital content creation environment within broadcast media.
- Proficiency in identifying compelling photo and video angles and editing content under tight deadlines.
- Experience in writing short articles, blurbs, and social copy in a consistent brand voice.
- Audio production experience is a strong advantage.
- Comprehensive understanding of all social media platforms, with a strong focus on visual content execution – photography and video.
- Ability to execute briefs accurately and problem-solve in real time.
- Working knowledge of SEO best practices.
- Visual storytelling and creativity: Proficiency in crafting narratives with an eye for composition, pacing, and rhythm to engage audiences.
- Ability to develop and execute creative digital content ideas efficiently.
- Skill in translating radio content into social media content that resonates on digital platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities to develop and maintain a content database.
- Strong awareness of current affairs, pop culture, and digital trends.
- Proficiency in social media reporting, with the ability to derive actionable insights from analytics.
- Strong communication skills
- Strong online visual sense and aesthetic
- Curious, creative, and trend-savvy, with a strong storytelling instinct and the ability to identify emerging opportunities.
- Eager to explore new editing techniques, features, and trends and incorporate them into brand content
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other departments and digital content producers
