Billy Monama

Monama strongly believes that in order to have a clearer perception of the present, in our pursuit of the future, it is imperative that we meaningfully reflect on the past. Billy Monama’s wish is that you will engage, enjoy and find yourself in the music of Rebounce.

I caught up with Billy last week in Johannesburg to find out what music means to him and more…

What does music mean to you?

Music is an important artform that affects and inspire our lives,to reflect and connects us with us God, and execute emotions. For instance, when we listen to sad songs, we tend to feel a decline in our mood. When we listen to happy songs, we feel happier. Upbeat songs with energetic riffs, tend to have us  excited and pumped up.

Your heroes?

Pat Matheny, George Benson, Jimmy Dludlu, Selaelo Selota, Themba Mokoena.

Which living person do you admire most , and why?

Selaelo Selota – his versertility as song writer, guitarist and production and lastly, his educational background.

It’s your round, what are you drinking?

Red wine.
