Features Writer Intern (preferably based in Cape Town) currently unemployed and looking to gain workplace experience to join our dynamic editorial team for
Food & Home Magazine.
Key duties and responsibilities:- Write engaging and well-researched features for the quarterly print magazine and regular articles for the website.
- Stay up to date with trends and news in the food industry, including restaurants, chefs, food influencers and content creators.
- Brainstorm and contribute ideas for content across print and digital platforms.
- Assist with social media content when needed.
- SEO-optimise own web articles to improve online visibility.
- Attend food-related events on occasion.
- Support the team with administrative tasks where relevant.
Requirements:- A relevant degree and/or experience in writing (journalism, media, communications or similar).
- Strong knowledge of SEO practices and digital content strategies.
- A keen interest in food, restaurants, chefs and the evolving food content landscape.
- Comfortable working remotely while collaborating with the team.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Highly organised with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in major social media platforms.
- Experience with WordPress CMS and Mac is a plus.
- Excellent writing, copy editing and organisational skills.
